Day 17: To Glacier National Park

Fri. Jun 9, 2017
Stats:  Today - 44 miles; 843 miles to date
Elevation climbed: 1299 ft; 32,019 feet to date
Temp. Low: low 50's High: low 90's
  Sunny,  5-10 mph tailwind

Today's ride, like yesterday, was an enjoyable ride.  Though we had some climbing the grade was minimal for the most part.  Today, we also had a strong tailwind pushing us.  We arrived at our campsite about 3:30 and set-up camp at the Sprague Creek Campground on Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park.

Last night at the state park in Whitefish we had a thunderstorm pass through.  We must have been on the edge of it because we didn't get much rain.  But it did account for the cooler weather and wind today. Temps were in the 60's.

The first gravel road we've been on.  This was only two and a half miles of packed gravel.

West entrance

The hiker/biker site provided two bear boxes, three camping chairs, an axe for firewood and free firewood.
